Block of the Month
We have several Block of the Month programs. Beginning in January, we will offer Civil War Journals by Marcus Fabrics, Ginger Rose by Andover Fabrics, and a new wool Block of the Month called Summertime. In the spring, we will offer a hand applique Block of the Month called Birds 'n Urns. We will also offer Northern Stars by Timeless Treasures; Women of Courage in Windham Fabrics; and Merry, Merry Snowmen, by Bunny Hill Designs with Moda fabrics. See below for a photo and brief description of each of these beautiful quilts.

CIVIL WAR JOURNALS – Fabric by Judie Rothermel; 12-month Block of the Month Program by Homestead Hearth; Finished Quilt Sizes: Large 84" x 102", Small Quilts range 44" x 44" to 51" x 60"; January 2012 to December 2012. $28 per month.
GINGER ROSE – Ginger Rose is an 8-month Block of the Month which features a mix of floral and graphic design prints in beautiful late summer and autumn colors. The fabric, quilt and patterns are designed by Nancy Murty of Bee Creative Studio for Andover Fabrics. The finished quilt measures 73 x 90 inches. $20 per month.
SUMMERTIME – This 12-month wool quilt is simple in color, using only red, gold, green, black and brown. The finished size of the whole quilt is approximately 40 x 50 inches. $20 per month.
Birds 'n Urns – This 12-month Block of the Month quilt was created by Kathy Delaney of Kansas City Star. Pat Cunningham will offer classes for this beautiful appliqued quilt in spring 2012. The finished quilt top measures 96 X 96 inches.
Northern Stars – The Northern Stars Block-of-the-Month, designed by Toni Steere and Jenny Foltz, features a collection of 12 beautiful Tonga batiks by Timeless Treasures. These batiks were inspired by the colors in the northern lights. Two sizes of star blocks in jewel tones, shine amidst the pastel background and pieced border. This 12-month block-of-the-month program includes the patterns and fabric to complete the quilt top, which includes the borders and binding. Finished quilt is 96” x 108”. The 12-month program begins March 2012.
WOMEN OF COURAGE – This 12-month Block of the Month program was designed by Denice Lipscomb. Each quilt block was created to feature a courageous woman in world history – Helen Keller, Mother Theresa, Ameila Earhart, Sojourner Truth, and Christa McAuliffe – to mention a few. Windham Fabric’s Women of Courage fabric collection by Nancy Gere has luscious floral prints, beautiful tonal blenders and a breathtaking color palette of brown, tan, red, teal and green. The quilt top is 98 X 98 inches. This program begins in May 2012.
MERRY, MERRY SNOWMEN – is a 10-month Block of the Month Program designed by Anne Sutton of Bunny Hill Designs, and features French Generals' Rounneries Deux collection by Moda Fabrics. This 62 x 66 inch quilt features plenty of jolly snowmen!
