Class Information

We are very happy to offer such a large and varied selection of classes along with all of the new and exciting fabrics from Anthology, Moda, Timeless Treasures, P & B Textiles, Robert Kaufman,  Marcus Fabrics, Northcott, Michael Miller, Mirah Batiks, Island Batiks, Benartex, Wilmington, Windham and many more. New fabrics arrive daily! We also carry a large selection of patterns, books, threads, hand dyed wool, ribbons and other embellishments. We offer classes in traditional quilting techniques as well as hand and machine appliqué, English paper piecing, hand piecing, crazy quilting, wool applique, sewing weekends, and so much more! We have 2 classrooms! Would you and your friends like to schedule a class for a specific class or technique? How about a Mother & Daughter class? Call us and we will arrange it, (518) 767-2040.

Quilters, crafters, knitters, embroiderers – are you looking for a space to get together? Our classrooms are available for a nominal fee for your group to gather in. Call us to see what is available, (518) 767-2040.

We have a wonderful longarm quilter who will pick up your quilt tops and return them quilted the next month.  She requests that you call or email her to make a reservation for your quilt to be quilted.

Wednesday, September 18, 25, October 2, 9, 16, 23, 30; 10 am - 2 pm. Set aside some time to work on a project of your own with help from Londa. This is a great time for beginners to come sharpen your skills.

Cost: $ 15.00
Thursday, September 19; 10 am - 4 pm; Tabitha Tote & Purse This pattern offers several options - 2 sizes, hardware, zippers and more! It's a great intro to cork (uses only one 18 x 27 piece!) and features inside divided pockets and a zipper pocket. Features an optional recessed zipper closure. Or use a Flip or Twist lock.

Thursday, September 19 and October 17; 2 - 4 pm or 6 - 8 pm; Do you love to do applique by hand and want to mingle with others who share your love for this needlecraft? Whether you are a beginner or an expert, join Pat's applique "sewcial" to stitch your own applique project and share ideas and techniques with fellow quilters.

Friday, September 20; 10 am - 3 pm; Let Sue show you things about your Embroidery machine that you never knew it could do! Whether you are a beginner or an expert, this is the time to get together with other machine embroiders and do a great project selected by Sue.

Sunday, September 22; 10 am - 3 pm; Have you started any bags from Sew Many Creations and need just a little help finishing? Jessica will be here to help you finish any of her bags whether you started them in a class with Jessica or on your own. This class is just for Sew Many Creations bag patterns.

Tuesday, September 24 and October 22 ; 6 - 8 pm; Choose one of Jaybird Quilt patterns, Cookie Cutter or Snack Time. Make these quilts planned or scrappy and they will be beautiful. Cookie Cutter requires the Super Sidekick Ruler and Snack Time requires the Hex N More Ruler. These rulers are fun to use and make beautiful quilts!

Saturday, September 27; 10:00 - 3:00 pm. The wait is over for the barnyard animals. Work with Sue on this beautiful nativity wall hanging which will become your new favorite holiday display. The class will include directions for the techniques of quilting as you go and fusible web machine applique. The pattern is designed for all skill levels. Finished size is 26"w by 29"h

Sunday, September 29; Noon - 4 pm; Come help us celebrate the release of Jessica's second line of fabric! A mystical, magical land of bugs, butterflies and snails. The crickets are chirping and the smell of a campfire wafts through the air. Butterflies land on delicate flowers while dragonflies buzz by. A snail slowly creeps along a bumpy log. This is Juniper. Jessica will have several samples of her quilts and bags using Juniper!

Sunday, September 29 October 13; 11 am - 2 pm; This club will meet one Sunday each month. This club is devoted to hand-piecing.

We are doing another bag weekend! Friday, October 4, Noon - 9 pm; Saturday, October 5, 10 am - 9 pm; and Sunday, October 6 , 10 am - 3pm. Come spend the weekend creating bags (any bag) with Jessica's assistance! Jessica will also have demos & displays throughout the weekend. Finish your bags? Then work on any other project of your choice. Dinner Friday and Saturday night are included. Seating is limited so sign up early!

Tuesday, October 1; 1 - 4 pm; This monthly gathering will experiment with fancy fabrics, unusual fibers, trims, and embellishments for an ongoing project of your choice. Join the fun anytime! Please be sure to let us know you will be coming.

Tuesday, October 1; 6 - 8 pm; You are invited to step back in time and attend an olde fashioned gathering making small vintage looking quilts with Civil War - era fabrics. We will be working with the book Civil War Legacies III by Carol Hopkins. Book is required.

Tuesday, October 8; 6 - 8 pm; There are so many wool applique designs to choose from - something for everyone. Wool applique is fun, relaxing and portable. Work on your own project or we can find a project for you to get started on!

Thursday, October 10, 6 - 8 pm. Gather some of your favorite fabrics and join with friends to work on a scrap quilt. This club will meet with Londa monthly.

Quilters' Paradise is back! A unique shopping experience for quilters and sewers. Saturday, October 19, 10 am - 3 pm St. Sophia Greek Orthodox Church 440 Whitehall Road, Albany We have found a great new venue and we are very excited to sponsor this event again. Note the date is a Saturday and the hours will be 10 - 3 pm. Refreshments will be available.
