Class Information

We are very happy to offer such a large and varied selection of classes. We offer classes in traditional quilting techniques as well as hand and machine appliqué, English paper piecing, hand piecing, crazy quilting, wool applique, sewing weekends, and so much more! If there are any classes you would like to see offered at Log Cabin Fabrics, please let us know.

Quilters, crafters, knitters, embroiderers, rug hookers – are you looking for a space to get together? Our classrooms are available for a nominal fee for your group to gather in. Call us to see what is available, (518) 767-2040.

We have two wonderful longarm quilters who will pick up your quilt tops and return them quilted.

 Covid-19 Class Policies

  • At this time masks are not required
  • Class size is limited so that social distancing may be maintained.  We would appreciate your support in this matter.
  • You must bring your own supplies
  • Please be sure all your equipment is clean prior to coming to class.
  • Please be sure all your items are clearly marked with your name.
  • If you are sick for any reason, PLEASE STAY HOME! If you have been exposed to Covid-19 in the last 14 days, PLEASE STAY HOME!

Having said all this if you need to cancel, we would appreciate it if you would let us know as soon as possible. Due to the limited class size in all likelihood, there will be a waiting list. 

 

Class Policy – At the time of sign up you must pay for your class. We have decided to make this change as a result of no-show students and out of courtesy for those on the waiting list. If you need to cancel you will not receive a refund unless we can fill your spot. If we can fill your class spot, our refund policy is for a voucher for a future class of equal value. 

You MUST register for any class or club meeting before the class. 

 

  • Sanitizer/Wipes will be provided - remember to wash your hands frequently.
  • Please silence your cell phone during class. If you receive a call and you must take it, please leave the classroom out of courtesy to others.
  • Please remember to come prepared and come on time. Supply lists will be available.

Tuesday, June 28; 11 am - 2 pm; This class with work with 4, 7 & 13 mm silk ribbons working the ribbons through the needle to create beautiful flowers. Kit required $20

Wednesday, June 1, 8, 15, 22, 29; 11 am - 3 pm. Set aside some time to work on a project of your own with help from Londa. This is a great time for beginners to improve your skills.

Cost: $ 15.00
Saturday, June 2; 11 am - 3 pm. Use 2 1/2" strips to create a woven table runner. Fun and beautiful! Stop by to see Londa's gorgeous sample! Pattern required

Tuesday, May 24; June 21; 11 - 2 pm; Learn from the expert! Learn basic stitches, marking techniques, threads, needles and much more.

Thursday, June 9: 11am - 2 pm; Do you love elephants? Do you love puzzles? This is the pattern for you! Come make some elephants with Pat and have a great time!

Monday, May 23; June 13; 11 am - 2 pm; Scrap Club is a great opportunity to make a dent in your stash and all the piles of leftovers you are going to use "some day"! It is also a great time to prioritize your UFOs. We take a little time for Show & Tell, finished or in progress projects. If you are looking for a new idea to use a lot of scraps, try Woven Rails. Its adapts easily to any size quilt and used 1 3/4" strips in a range of lights to darks.

Thursday, June 16; 11 - 3; Crumb Quilts is scrap quilting the zero waste way. Sound interesting? Come see what it is all about with Londa. Book by Emily Bailey is required

Friday, June 17; 11 am - 3 pm; There are so many wool applique designs to choose from - something for everyone. Wool applique is fun, relaxing and portable. Choose your own project to work on or we can suggest one for you.

Saturday, June 18; July 23; August 6; 11 am - 3 pm. Work on any of Jessica's designs (Sew Many Creations). You must come to class with all of your pieces cut and fused (if necessary) so you can make the most of your sewing time with Jessica. If you have taken any class with this fabulous designer, you know how much fun you will have! Class fee must be paid prior to the class. Limit of 4 per class.
